Polystyrene is a thermoplastic styrene resin obtained by polymerization of styrene in the crystal version (GPPS). It is identified as shockproof (HIPS) when butadiene rubber is added.
Because of its excellent processability, it can be produced with different characteristics, thanks to the possibility of formulating it by differentiating the percentages of GPPS and HIPS.
The MP3 trade name for PS film is MP STIR.
MP STIR polystyrene finds application in many different fields, from food packaging ( yoghurt and ice-cream tubs, take-away pizza plates, display stands, fruit trays, egg trays, picnic plates and cups) to containers in general (plant pots, seed planters, drum covers, box insides) to non-food packaging, furniture finishes, as flocking base etc.
It is fully reusable (post-production and post-consumption recycling) and  conforms to the main waste disposal regulations.
MP STIR is available in various formulations with glossy (R/L) or matt (R/R) finish.
It can be supplied in a vast choice of colours in the standard range, in two colours (e.g. yoghurt sector), or in various material imitations.
